Santa Fe woman reported missing

Santa Fe police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman last seen in summer 2011. Tammas Joan Hamilton, 57, was last seen in the Santa Fe area in July or August.
She was driving a gold Honda Element with New Mexico license plate LNJ-659. Anyone with information on Hamilton or her whereabouts can contact Detective Sgt. Michele Williams of the SFPD Crimes Against Persons Unit at (505) 955-5227 or (505) 428-3710 or any local police agency.
Man shot 3 times near Santa Fe Springs

A man was wounded at least three times in the lower body in a shooting Tuesday night in an unincorporated area adjacent to Santa Fe Springs. The suspect ran away from the scene, said Sgt. Mike Mendoza of the sheriff’s Norwalk Station. He was last seen running westbound through nearby Amelia Mayberry Park, Mendoza said.
The victim’s condition was not immediately known. Paramedics rushed him to Saint Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, Mendoza said.

Funeral held for Santa Fe murder victim

Funeral services are set for Wednesday for one of the victims killed in a double homicide in Santa Fe more than a week ago. Austin urban was only 16 years-old.
Police say Arthur Anaya killed him and another woman over a late rent payment. Last weekend, Urban’s friends and family, as well as the other victim, Theresa Vigil’s family, held a bake sale to help raise money for the funeral costs. urban’s funeral will be at 10 Wednesday morning at the Saint Anne Parish in Santa Fe. Anaya remains in jail on a $1 million, cash only bond.

Santa Fe Gold Ramps Up Summit Silver-Gold Mine

Santa Fe Gold Corporation today reported that its Summit silver-gold mine in southwestern New Mexico is expected to achieve commercial production during January 2012. Mechanized long-hole mining of the ore body began in December 2011 and has proved to be very successful. At the targeted production rate of 400 tons per day, output during 2012 is anticipated to increase by 400% from 2011 levels. Annual revenues over the life of mine are projected to approximate $40 million at recent gold and silver prices. Operating costs are estimated to be $364 per ounce of gold equivalent produced. Ore reserve grades over the life of mine are estimated to average 10.78 ounces per ton silver and 0.143 ounces per ton gold.
NM on pace to be more urban, Hispanic

Teens lead Santa Fe deputies on chase

Deputies said a truck full of teens led them on a high-speed chase from Santa Fe down a narrow and slick rural road to La Cienega.
The nine-mile chase started on Agua Fria Street and ended when the driver crashed into a utility pole off County Road 56 in La Cienega around 1:30 a.m. Monday. More >
